The Safe Berks Silent Witness March & Dedication is held each year in October, as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. According to our records, 80 beloved people have been killed by domestic violence in Berks County since 1999. We mourn for each of these victims and their families, friends, neighbors and co-workers. At this solemn event, we honor and remember the Berks County victims of domestic violence homicide, and offer support to their families and friends.
The Safe Berks Silent Witness Project is a visual monument to the Berks County lives lost to domestic violence. Each red silhouette wears a shield that describes their tragic death. The Silent Witness Project always takes place in October, as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
