April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month!
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it.
This year, the theme of SAAM is “Together We Act, United We Change”, which highlights the importance of working together to address and prevent sexual abuse, assault, and harassment.

Join us in raising awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month by painting rocks!
For the month of April, Safe Berks and participating community members will be placing painted #SAAMrocks across Berks County, to raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
If you come across a SAAM rock, we’d love for you to share a photo on Facebook or Instagram. Please include where you found it and use the hashtag #SAAMRocks. Then you may keep the rock or place it somewhere else.
Keep in mind the following guidelines when placing painted rocks:
Placing rocks in Federal or State parks – or any other park that has a “Leave no trace” policy is prohibited
Avoid placing rocks indoors or at businesses (unless permission is given)
Avoid placing rocks in grassy areas where they can be run over with lawn equipment, or in direct walking paths, where they can become a trip hazard.
